To sum it up:  Our skin and organs are made up of elastin and collagen. As we age, or lead a poor lifestyle like smoking, excessive alcohol, lack of exercise, not enough filtered water elastin and collagen is put under stress. Never mind excessive exposure to the Sun (remembering you do need to get in the Sun daily or supplement with a quality vitamin D to get your vitamin D levels up, try go in the Sun earlier in the day). Sun blocks and facial products with harmful ingredients will contribute to stress/aging on your skin.

So what is Elastin and Collagen?

Elastin is a highly elastic protein in connective tissue and allows many tissues in the body to resume their shape after stretching or contracting. Elastin helps skin to return to its original position when it is poked or pinched.

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body and is the substance that holds the whole body together. It is found in the skin, muscles, bones and tendons, where it forms a scaffold to provide strength and structure.

So what do we suggest that can assist/slow down this process?

Exercise try do Short durations 2 – 3 times per week of HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING coupled with weight training.  Girls do not be afraid to lift heavier weights; we cannot build muscle like men unless we are taking substances that promote that.   If you cannot do that try brisk walking 2 minutes at a good pace and 30 seconds at a faster pace repeating until the duration is up.  Whatever it is though, do get exercise in. Why?  There are numerous studies proving HIIT training can assist with fat burning, anti aging, hormonal issues and circulation.  Give it a 3 month try.

Drink at least 2 litres filtered water (not in plastic).  Why?  Without water you will appear dehydrated and one of the places it tells is your skin.

Eat Plenty of Fresh Dark Leafy vegetables:  Kale, Spinach, Broccoli etc.  Organic if possible or wash with filtered water.  Why?  Our skin needs antioxidants, vitamins and Minerals and the fibre in these vegetables will keep us regular which is also an important factor with skin health washing them also removes all these deadly chemicals that are being sprayed i.e. Glyphosate/Roundup.

Antioxidants:  Include - Raspberry, Blueberry, Cherry or Cherry Active Concentrate* and Organic Goji Berries* to name a few.

Eat all your good Fats:  Virgin Cold Pressed Coconut Oil*, Avocado, Raw unsalted Nuts, Sugar  Free Nut Butters from Crede*, Macadamia Oil*, Virgin Cold Pressed Olive Oil* (remember not to heat Olive Oil to high heat).  There are others too. Supplement with a quality Omega 3 from See Yourself Well OR Solgar.

Consume Wild Caught fatty fish at least 2 - 3 times per week.  When you consume red meat make sure it is Grass Fed and Free range why?  These meats contain more of the good fats the Omega 3 and have no hormones and antibiotics.  Animals should eat grass and not Genetically Modified corn/soy which is inflammatory to humans and animals alike.

TIP 1: Invest in a nice Back Brush and try to dry brush your skin, do this every day before your shower.  Why?  Removes all the dead skin and helps with circulation. See link below:

TIP 2: BATH in Epsom Salts* for 20 minutes at least 3 times per week.  Why?  Great affordable way to detox and soften the skin

What QUALITY supplements can assist prevent the breakdown of Collagen and Elastin?

I am interested in your products'. I want to cleanse my colon and lose weight. I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY JOINTS and the Doctor told me that there is too much fat in your body. I take five to six days to go to the bathroom. Can you tell me which products to buy
